The Mudgood Job Journal is the brainchild of the Mudgood brothers, a pair of unlikely career experts from the hinterlands of New York. Although we don’t like to think of ourselves as shiftless, our combined employment history is, well, diverse. Over the years, we’ve worked in sales, IT, retail, publishing, public relations, food service, agriculture and the nonprofit world. You name the job, there’s a good chance one of us has earned a living doing it at some point in our lives.
Like millions of other fathers, when we were growing up our dad told us that we could be whatever we want to be as long as we work hard. It didn’t take long for us to figure out that our dad’s sage advice didn’t mesh with the real world …
Finding a good job is hard. And sometimes, finding a good job you love can seem damn near impossible.
Maybe we’re dreamers, but we think that a job should be about more than just earning a paycheck. It should be a source of dignity—something you can take pride in doing and telling your kids about. Somewhere out there your next big gig is waiting for you and it’s our job to help you land it.
We’ve designed The Mudgood Job Journal to be a one-stop resource with all the information you need to change careers or to advance in your current one. From news about career trends and hiring sectors to helpful articles about job interviews and employer relations, we give you the tools it takes to succeed in today’s job market.
So take off your coat and stay awhile. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, shoot us an e-mail and we’ll do our best to track down the information you need. But most of all, keep your chin up. Sure, it’s tough out there. But with a little luck and the Mudgood brothers watching your back, you’ll be on your way to job search success in no time at all.
